Experience in one to one coaching


As part of the Career Decisions/CDT team who have successfully coached over 400 School Principals, John has successfully coached school Principals and their teams from a variety of schools. Coachees include leaders from DEIS, rural, primary and secondary, community and educate together schools.

John works pragmatically as a Coach and Thought-Partner with senior leaders. From experience John has witnessed a lot of commonality between the needs of leaders in the education sector and leaders in the corporate sector; he believes his diversity of perspective adds to the dynamic of meeting the challenges faced by school Principals and their ISM teams, in complex and unpredictable environments

Following a successful career as Head of Operational and Commercial Functions, John transitioned his career in 2003 to retrain as an Executive and Leadership Coach. John is an astute advisor who helps clients unlock their potential. John’s style in building a quality relationship with his client is based on trust and respect, this allows for a depth of understanding to emerge, that facilitates developmental growth. It is this change in awareness that enables a wider range of choices to become available to deal with the many issues arising.

John is engaging, pragmatic and insightul and helps Principals to amplify their natural strengths to achieve their goals. He creates a safe and confidential coaching space which facilitates reflection, exploration of ideas, sharing of learning and identification of actions leading to goal attainment.
