Experience in one to one coaching
My focus in coaching is influenced by my second area of specialism, Training & Development. I work with my coachees in a partnership to identify the expected outcomes and explore needs and challenges fully. When our formal partnership ends the expected outcomes need to be met or there needs to be a practical plan in place for them.
I draw on tools such as Life Planning, Branding and Values Identification, NLP, Emotional Intelligence, Personality and Career Profiling and many proven, up-to-date exercises/ learning guides/research from my Management and Leadership Training programmes. Since qualifying as a Master Trainer with the IMI in 1995, I have formally conducted management development training both as an in-house Trainer and Coach and also in my own business .
I build in time for active reflection in everything I do. With coaching, I ask the client, at the end of each session for their feedback and build that into the next session. I take time out immediately to self-reflect and note how the session went and how it can be improved for the client’s benefit. I use written preparation documents before every session, summarising key learning/action/realisations also.
